Josh’s camping career started at Camp Wise in Cleveland, Ohio, as a camper in 1979. Since then he has earned a Masters in Jewish Education from Jewish Theological Seminary, worked at many Jewish camps around the country helping them to strengthen their outdoor and tripping programs while adding a Jewish framework. Josh has lived and worked in Israel, backpacked around Asia for 2 years and has hiked extensively throughout the United States. He is a Wilderness First Responder, an avid outdoorsman and a member of the Oregon Mycological Society. Josh’s passion is turning nature/wilderness into a Jewish classroom where people can fully experience Creation. Josh’s style of education is heavily influenced by nature as learners follow their natural rhythms in order to discover their own lessons. Josh currently lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife Tamar and daughters, Ayelet and Dov.
